Our Laboratory

Hi,

I, Dr. Supratim Mandal, assistant professor of the Department of Microbiology, University of Kalyani. It's my great pleasure to present our laboratory website. I am sure that this website will be of immense value and importance to all who are associated with our laboratory and interested in our work. We always try to keep this website up to date.

Our lab started in 2018 at the Department of Microbiology, University of Kalyani and since then it has been a playfield of innovative and novel ideas covering vivid microbiological aspects. The Microbial Pathogenesis and Experimental Therapeutics Laboratory believes in an interdisciplinary approach to microbial infection-related cancers, understanding the molecular mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis, and overcoming antibiotic resistance. We work in collaboration with various departments and institutes with expertise in Organic Chemistry, Nanotechnology, and Bioinformatics.

Principally we investigate facets of microbial community behaviour, the biofilm formation, and its implications on microbial pathogenesis. We have expanded our horizon by including an investigation of microbiome and development of cancer. We are using genomics, genetic, proteomic, biochemical, and in silico methods to understand the disease processes and to develop therapeutic approaches.
